Fred Berry
I guess my personal statement and the history of BERJEN have a lot in common!
As it says on our vans and website: “A dedication to quality workmanship backed up with 40 years customer service experience”
That’s whet you get from us as my history goes back a little further than the rest of the team. I’m the Old Boy.
Guiding the young’uns.
When We set up the Family Business. With me the old Boy the BER of the BERJEN and Nathan Jenkins the JEN and as you will see from our LOGO The R&J are linked indication “Family”
I have many favourites saying “Age is but a number. Youthfulness is in the mind” well one of them! I have many and a nickname for all. The Family the Grand Children (the future of our business) The Guy’s we work with
I do set the example but I do like to inject a bit of fun into proceedings as we all spend a lot of time at work supporting our customers. Going the extra mile as you would expect from a customer focussed team.
Before we set up BERJEN I worked for 30 plus years in a large service organisation where many of the processes and procedures we have adopted and modified to suite BERJEN. I guess here another saying “Don’t fix whets not broken” But recognising the “Change is Good” never afraid of the future trends and customer needs and demands, we respond to what the customer wants but giving meaningful insider knowledge of the kitchen and fitted furniture industry to get you the best possible end result.
As we are a small business, we can adapt quickly to what you the customer wants and needs to suite your very individual requirements.
Our original ambition is to grow the business and give young people an opportunity to work in a hands-on TRADE recognising back then that the required skills were dying out and “there was no or very little focus on Training & Apprentiship across the industry and border allied trades and construction.
So, we set about growing the Family business recruiting new family members in the form of apprentices. To give young people the opportunity to Grow and develop you know this give me great pleasure to see our team member change into “Skilled Craftsmen” and excellent service providers. To see them grow in their trade and life in general to see a young person straight out of school embark on an apprentiship with us and then to see them over time develop in to stable young adults Home Owners and steeling down in life. That gives me great pleasure.
The next generation is on the way. As the Business recognises family values and we had a young family at the time (How time flies I now have 8 new nick names in my repertoire for the 8 Grand Children)
And at the end of all that we cannot do it with out you. Our Customers Past Present & Future
As without you we have nothing I know “Customers are our Life Blood” there you go there’s another saying. Inject humour and they will remember…..
