What is it and how do I clean it?
Luxury Vinly flooring is one of the most versatile flooring ranges available. It’s a robust and thicker type of vinyl floor than your standard glue down vinyl and it looks like real wood and stone flooring. As with any other vinyl flooring it is the result of combining different synthetic materials which gives to the floor its well known, characteristic soft and warmer feel. Because of the way is done, vinyl flooring is very durable and water resistant. LVT flooring is often recommended when you have a family because it is fully waterproof, so it’s able to withstand spillages. You don’t have to worry about your children being messy and dropping anything, because not only is water resistant, it is also scratch-proof, highly durable and more importantly it is also a very low maintenance floor. All that it needs is to be regularly sweep or mopped using a warm damp cloth.
What is its life span?
Of course, you’ll be wondering how much this floor lasts, if cared correctly it can stay in your home for up to 20+ years! Not bad for one of the cheapest luxury floors on the market right now and great if you’re working on a budget too.
Will it look real?
Luxury Vinyl flooring is not only about practicality it has also everything you could wish for on the aesthetic side of things too! In fact, vinyl flooring can perfectly replicate most surfaces, including wood or tiles and it looks incredibly realistic too. Which is great if you’re looking for something that appears expensive but doesn’t do too much damage to your wallet.
Laminates & Engineered timber floors
More and more people are choosing laminate flooring to renovate their homes as well as their offices and shops because it is beautiful, practical, durable and reasonably priced. Over the last 10 years, manufacturers have invested in both technology and research, producing a material with great aesthetic impact with a wide range of choice of finishes and certified quality.
The laminate floor that GIAVA SRL has selected for you consists of a set of layers pressed into a single plank. The technology used is DPL or Direct Pressed Laminate. The layers that make up a panel are: the top layer, in which a protective film (Overlay) is applied, which determines the durability of the floor. In the second layer we find the decorative layer in which a special printed paper is applied, chosen from a wide range of designs. In the middle panel is the main part of the floor, the HDF (High Density Fiber) panel, which is nothing more than a layer made of wood scraps cut up and mixed with glues and resins and then treated at a high temperature and pressure. The last layer is the interlocking system; every company has its own designed and patented system. The most convenient to use to lay a floor is the so-called “5G system”, which is nothing more than a male-female joint located on all 4 sides of the plank, present in all the floors offered by the company GIAVA SRL. It is sufficient to have a distance of 7/8 mm and to respect the realization of maximum laying fields of 40/50 mq; in case of higher surfaces it will be necessary to foresee intermediate expansion joints with appropriate profiles.
Solid Wood Flooring
Solid wood flooring has become much more fashionable in recent years, being the premium choice of floors. Having solid wood floors in your house increases the value of your home. Nothing beats the solid feel of a solid hardwood floor.
How Long Does A Solid Wood Floor Last
If laid correctly solid wood flooring can last a lifetime.
How Many Times Can You Sand Solid Wood Flooring
Due to the thickness which ranges from 14mm to 22mm it can be re-sanded many times. The amount of times you can sand will depend on how much you want to take off with each sand. If you just want to lacquer the floor again then just a gentle sand will be enough. So it can still have the amazing look from the day you bought it.
